United Nations Security Council also known as UNSC is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations. Since its first session on 17 January 1946, it is tasked with ensuring international peace and security, accepting new members to the United Nations and approving the changes in its charter. UNSC has the authority to demonstrate military actions through resolutions and establish international sanctions as well as peacekeeping operations. Like how UN has been established UNSC was created after World War 2 when its predecessor League of Nations failed its task to maintain peace and security. United Nations Security Council has 15 members with permanent 5 and 10 guest member states.
